US shares decrease at shut of commerce; Dow Jones Industrial Common down 1.23%

© Reuters US stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 1.23% – US stocks were lower after Monday's close as losses in the, and sectors drove lower stocks.

At the close of trading on the NYSE, the index was down 1.23% while the index was down 1.14% and the index was down 1.24%.

The best performers of the trading day's session were Merck & Company Inc (NYSE :), which rose 0.95% or 0.72 points to trade at 76.41 at close of trade. In the meantime, Home depot Inc (NYSE 🙂 added 0.37% or 1.42 points to finish at 389.40 and Walmart Inc (NYSE 🙂 rose 0.32% or 0.45 points to 139.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE :), which fell 2.95% or 4.66 points to trade at 153.53 at the close. Caterpillar Inc (NYSE 🙂 declined 2.93% or 5.91 points to end at 195.46 and Nike Inc (NYSE 🙂 declined 2.71% or 4.38 points to 156.98.

The top performers in the S&P 500 were Carnival Corporation (NYSE :), which rose 3.39% to 18.90. Pfizer Inc (NYSE 🙂 which is up 2.59% to settle at 61.02 and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE :), which was up 2.12% to close at 20.76.

The worst performers were Principal Financial Group Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 6.59% to 66.92 in late trading. Modern Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 which lost 6.25% to settle at 276.38 and Nucor Corp (NYSE :), which fell 5.82% to 111.13 in the close.

The top performers of the NASDAQ Composite were Social pass Inc (NASDAQ :), which is up 240.18% to 11.26, Change of tide International Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 which is up 36.36% to level off at 2.1000 and Aeroclean Technologies LLC (NASDAQ 🙂 which was up 33.69% to close at 11.31.

The worst performers were Summit Therapeutics PLC (NASDAQ :), which is down 47.99% to 2,590 in late trade, Badge systems Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 which lost 35.06% to settle at 11,500 and Nutriband Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 23.60% to 3.14 at close of trade.

Falling stocks outperformed rising stocks on the New York Stock Exchange by 2,617 to 655 and 118 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq stock market fell 2743 and rose 1098 while 183 ended unchanged.

Shares in Summit Therapeutics PLC (NASDAQ 🙂 fell 52-week lows; 47.99% or 2.390 down to 2.590. SeaChange International Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 shares rose 52-week high; Win 36.36% or 0.5600 to 2.1000. Nutriband Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 shares fell to all-time lows; decreases by 23.60% or 0.97 to 3.14.

The one that measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options rose 6.03% to 22.87.

Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.75%, or 13.45, to $ 1,791.45 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery fell 2.38% or 1.69 to $ 69.17 a barrel in January, while the Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to $ 72.06 a barrel in February fell.

EUR / USD rose 0.04% to 1.1280 while USD / JPY rose 0.02% to 113.61.

The US dollar index futures lost 0.03% to 96.515.
