With pieces ranging from pretzel necklaces to a My Little Pony jewelry collection, ONCH is used to creating eye-catching art. This weekend he wants to bring his eccentric designs to the world of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

Starting tomorrow at 12 noon PST, LA-based artist ONCH is putting eight NFTs up for sale. He not only uses this event to get into digital art, but also uses the opportunity to donate to charity. 10% of the proceeds go to Stop Asian Hate initiatives.

"Seeing what's going on because of racism breaks my heart. As an artist, I feel the need to always use my voice – that's my art – to help in one way or another," says ONCH.

The artwork in ONCH's first NFT series are images of designs that were created by hand. In these pieces, the artist says he's showing iconic elements – like pretzel motifs and bright colors – to introduce the market to his distinct style. In addition, ONCH offers custom jewelry with certificates of authenticity to those who purchase the NFTs.

Although the NFTs have not yet been released, ONCH looks forward to its future in the digital space. He has already planned some NFT drops to match his upcoming jewelry collections and says he will expand his presence with 3D NFTs. For him, NFTs are a promotional tool that he can use to bring his physical jewelry to life online.

ONCH isn't the only one benefiting from NFTs. TikTok stars and athletes alike are entering the sphere. Aside from the chance of financial gain, one of the most exciting aspects of the NFT is the technological advancement it could signal for the future.

"I think (NFTs) are a really cool place and I want to see how it plays out. I want to know about NFTs in the future too. Would it be just a visual representation?" ONCH says. "I know some of them have noise, but what about smell? Is there a way for us to smell an NFT? There has to be some technology that could do that in the future. That really intrigues me."
