The World Health Organization is holding a press conference on Friday on the coronavirus pandemic which, according to Johns Hopkins University, has infected more than 32 million people worldwide.

The coronavirus has killed nearly 1 million people worldwide since it was discovered in Wuhan, China late last year. However, World Health Organization officials have warned that the virus "is not going away" and "has a long way to go".

"The energy has not gone away from this pandemic. There is still a lot of energy left this spring and this can drive the pandemic forward," said Dr. Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Program, last week.

New cases of Covid-19 have emerged in some European countries, including the UK, where Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reversed the lifting of some lockdown measures in England. He said the country is at a "dangerous turning point" and must act now to stop the virus from spreading.
