"The Spanish Armada has nothing against Trump supporters down there."
This is Fox News presenter Pete Hegseth, who compares the big boat parade of Trump supporters in Florida on Saturday with the Spanish Armada … which, incidentally, was put down by the English in 1588.
Here is the clip:
The Spanish Armada was a naval force of about 130 ships manned by 8,000 sailors, along with 18,000 soldiers and thousands of cannons making their way to England, according to History.com.
In short, the so-called “Great and Happiest Navy” returned to Spain in the fall of 1588 after losing up to 60 of their ships and an estimated 15,000 casualties. It has long been known as "one of the great military mistakes in history".
In the meantime, some pictures from the Trump Armada:
Trump's presidential boat has yet to sink, but he's lagging behind in recent polls. According to the latest national poll by NBC News / Wall Street Journal, Joe Biden leads Trump nationwide with 9 points among registered voters, 50% to 41%. Additionally, the survey shows that Sen. Kamala Harris, Biden's runner-up, has a higher personal net rating than Trump or Biden.
