HONG KONG (Reuters) – JPMorgan (NYSE 🙂 has hired UBS banker Peihao Huang to co-head its equity capital markets (ECM) business in Asia ex Japan. This comes from two sources that have direct knowledge of the matter.

Huang was UBS chief for Asia ECM but resigned from the Swiss bank on Monday to join the US firm.

The sources could not be named as the information has not yet been published. JPMorgan and UBS declined to comment.

At JPMorgan, Huang will be co-director of ECM Asia (ex-Japan) alongside Gregor Feige.

According to one of the sources, Lauro Baja, head of capital markets in the Asia-Pacific region, will take over responsibility from Huang.

In October, JPMorgan appointed Francesco Lavatelli to lead the ECM business for Asia Pacific. This is evident from a memo that was sent to employees at that time.
