Home Chefs Take Note: There is a new type of pizza stone in town. Founded by former FreshDirect Vice President Omar Rada in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, around 2015, Misen prides itself on its thoroughly tested, yet affordable, kitchen utensils like knives, pans, prep tools, and more.
However, the latest project goes a step further and ambitiously claims that "your stove is lying to you" and the problem is fixed. Misen Oven Steel is a sensational new tool specially designed to improve the precision of your oven's temperature targets, bringing them down from a 30 to 50 degree error rate to 5 to 10 degrees.
It doesn't claim to have reinvented the stove stone, but it doesn't really have to be. Misen makes the comparison straight away, claiming that compared to steel, stone is prone to cracking and leaves much to be desired in terms of the transfer and distribution of heat.
Of course, Misen & # 39; s Oven Steel isn't just for pizza, although its intended purpose is indistinguishable from that of a pizza stone. You can also use it to cook meat, vegetables and bread, as well as desserts. Its 13.5 "by 10" circumference gives it plenty of room to experiment, and its heavy-duty A36 carbon steel material makes it virtually indestructible, according to the Kickstarter listing. You can even combine multiple oven steel units to create more space for browning larger dishes.
The furnace steel seems incredibly versatile (and recyclable!) Which could explain its overwhelming surge in popularity since the campaign launched on May 20th. At this point in time, he has exceeded his funding goal more than 45 times and the supporters are steadily escalating. Starting at $ 55, you can take your own furnace steel home with you on Kickstarter. Misen expects the first batch to ship this November, so you won't have to wait too long to start cooking on fire – this time at more accurate temperatures.
