New cases of the coronavirus in the United States have remained stubbornly high in the past few days, with the country averaging more than 51,100 new cases per day over the past seven days. The reopening of universities and schools has already begun, many with a significant spread in the community. Other countries, such as New Zealand, which successfully contained the virus early on, are now struggling to eradicate it and are facing new and mystifying clusters of infections.
